Texas Map Update
It's been 6 months since I made my first DIY birding map and since then I have done a bit of county birding so I wanted to reflect those changes on a brand new map.
Does anybody remember "Hocus Focus" from the comics? That was always my favorite part. I guess the main change to the map in the last half year has been all the additional green counties, which are my under 50 species counties, throughout the plains. I also have a few scattered yellow(50-99 species) counties, and 1 new orange county when I hit 100 this summer in Liberty County.
These maps are pretty time consuming and tedious and unfortunately as far as I know you can't save the data used to make the map, only the picture so if there were a mistake I would just leave it and hope nobody would notice. But for all you Hocus Focus fans there is one mistake, and the first one to find it will win an all expense paid birding trip to that county with me as their guide. Transportation and lodging not included. So probably the only thing included is a healthy lunch on the road at a fast food joint. Competition ends at midnight tonight!
